It all began in Lacanche, a small village in Burgundy, where the story of Pianos Gastronomes took root. As early as the Middle Ages, the abundance of iron ore developed a tradition of smelting and forging. In 1763, a new forge was created, and in 1825, under the direction of France’s first female “Maîtresse de forge”, the first “potager” furnaces were built.
In the 19th century, Lacanche distinguished itself by the quality of its products, mastering the foundry and enameling skills for which it is renowned today.
